  1. I think it might be Trocadero place and gardens.  Hope that helps!

  2. It's the Palais de Chaillot on the Trocadero hill. It's just across the Seine river, near the tower.

    Check the link below.

As for the statement by the photographer of the photo you have included...

For having climbed the tower myself, I can tell you that it's worth the trip. No photo can actually make you feel how it is to stand on that last platform and look down.

  3. These folks know what they're talking about. It's the Palais de Chaillot. Metro line: Trocadero.  It is breathtaking from the Eiffel Tower.  And yet this has to be the best spot to marvel at the Eiffel Tower, too. What a love affair!

I know you're not asking but heads up for those who plan to visit BE WARY of the crooks.  They know all too well that tourists hang out here.  My best advice is to admire the Eiffel Tower from this location along with other families who are doing the same.

I am EXTREMELY aware of my surroundings when I'm in Paris and it's because of this we were not mugged.  I sensed we were being targeted and kept a close watch on two young guys as they watched us.  When I was convinced they were about to confront us we immediately removed ourselves and our belongings and headed towards a few other families many feet away.  They knew I was watching them and eventually they fled.

Just be careful folks anywhere you are!
