  1. It is a package of support files for programs written in visual C++.

It will have been installed by another program that needs it so don't remove it otherwise one or more programs will stop working.

It is not harmful to your computer in any way.

  2. The Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package contains library files required to run applications developed with Visual C++; you can uninstall it but any program that depends on these files will no longer work.

  3. that is correct it is for programming in c++ format...however some computergames install this program automatically and need the program to run properly...i'd leave it if you have games that you play often and are unsure about where it came from...either way it's not a virus and won't damage the computer or slow it down really.

  4. Its used for programming and coding. C++ is a coding language. You can uninstall it if you dont want it.

  5. Its a program for making software i imagine some other software you installed requires the components it offers.

I think you should be safe in deleting this seems pointless being on your machine and for any reason it was there in the first place you should be fine without it.

My my my i talk too much
