My Golden Retriever has a growth on the outside of her mouth.

I never saw it until about two days ago.

Is it cancerous?

What could it be?

It isn't very big, but it is pink and right on the outside of her mouth.

Any sites that can refer to what it is would be great.

  1. Does it have like a rough appearance, like cauliflower?  My dog got these also on the inside of his mouth and on his tongue. They were warts and I had them surgically removed and biopsied to be sure they weren't cancerous.

  2. It could be canine papilloma virus (warts)

Talk to your vet--an exam and possibly a biopsy will get to the bottom of it.

  3. Could be a lypoma, a skin tag, many different things. You need to bring your dog to the vet and get the lump checked and biopsyed to make sure it is not cancerous. Your best bet is to get it surgically removed anyways.

  4. I would take her to the vet.

    I hope its nothing serious.

    Good luck.

  5. most likly a cancer sore
