What is this "administrator" stuff?

ok here's the deal. sometimes when i try to download something to my computer it will say "you need administrator privileges to run this program." its really annoying! whats the problem, and how do i make it stop?

The problem is that you are not signed onto your computer as an administrator. You need to log off and then sign back on as administrator. Then try to download the file again.

Open Control Panel and turn off UAC if u're an administrator in Vista.

Do you know your administrator password ?

If so, right click the downloaded program and say run as

you will have administrator option with password popup, just type it and you can run it.
