What is this sci-fi series?

Question

I was talking to someone recently about adapting books to films and he mentioned a sci-fi series that may be in the works and it sounded really interesting. He didn't give many details but it had something to do with people having computer like systems on their necks that records brain data and then when the body dies, it is transfered into another "sleeve" (or body) and lives on. I believe the story follows one man as he goes from different bodies although I don't actually know what the plot is. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!
