What is this snake?

Question

I just came home today from driving, and my neighboors were looking at a snake I've never seen before, It is small, brown and white and the brown kind of looks like splotches you'd see on a cow, What do you think it is?

Where do you live? This sounds like an eastern milksnake. They can look like you described rather than the traditional black, red, and yellow or white coloring of most milksnakes. But it could also be alot of snakes. Ratsnakes are another possibility.

Um. Where do you live? Can you give a picture? Sorry, but going by such a vague description won't get much of a decent answer. You could also try doing a search on "<your state> snake identification".

sounds like a milk snake to me i would check with your local pet store

It could be a bull snake,an eastern brown snake, or maybe, though I doubt it, a wild python. The colors match but I would have to see a picture. If you can e-mail me one at [e-mail]
