Okay, this is kind of a strange question but I just gotta ask. When I blink my eyes a lot i see a lot of clear stingy looking things. I don't think its dust. I think its something my eyes are doing. It happens when I blink a lot or when I'm looking at a light for a long time. So, has anyone else seen these mystery strings? Does anyone know what they are?

  1. Sounds like floaters.  They are little pieces of the inside of your eye that clump together and cast shadows on your retina as they float around in your eye.  They are normal and harmless, though.  They can be clear, black, white, or gray.  They can be stringy, clumpy, or dots.  They are usually more noticable on bright backgrounds and move around as you move your eye.  The only time that you need to be worried is if you notice A LOT of them at once--like rain, a curtain, or spiderwebs.  This can be a sign that something is going on with your retina.  Other than that, we just have to learn to live with them.

Wikipedia has a good pic of what they look like:

I asked my eye doctor last time i got checked  and he says its normal =]
