Question:

What is this stupid bug?

Its about 1/4 in long, the body is oval, 6 legs, the head is long and narrower and its a light brown.

This thing eats young leaves (or at least eats the edges) but not the fuzzy ones.

It has to live in the ground because I've placed the pot up on a table with no bugs on the plant. By the next morning, I found 5 of them on the plant. By the way, they have no wings.

They leave black drops on the leaves...Eggs?

I found them on my asters a couple of years ago but now they are back 10 fold,,buttterfly bush..hydrangea..ivy, but not the begonia.. calla..geranium. Help to identify and kill! Sorry no picture.

  1. It sounds like some type of beetle

    and

    the black drops are probably pooh

  3. I dont think its not a june bug.Im pretty sure that stuff is poo not eggs.My guess is aphids but I dont think they attack flowers.
