Question:

What is this thing?!?

So I'm laying in bed and I feel something weird on my leg. I look down and there's a bug on me. It's about 1/4-1/2 and inch long, silver, skinny, not segmented, has one pair of antenna on its head and then another set of what looks like antenna on its rear. I have looked up many insects and the closest thing I can find are earwigs and silverfish, but unlike the silverfish I've seen, this does not have three "rods" on the rear, but only two (I only looked for a second so I COULD be mistaken but I don't think so). If it helps, I live in the Brazos Valley area of Texas.

  1. It's probably this:  A Firebrat

Silverfish and firebrats have flat, elongated bodies 1/3 to 3/4 inch long and broad near the head, tapering toward the rear-somewhat "carrot" shaped. These fragile, wingless insects are covered with scales and have two long, slender antennae at the head and three long, antennae-like appendages at the rear. These three appendages, one directed straight back and the other two curving outward, plus the two antennae, are nearly as long as the body. Sometimes these insects are known as "bristletails."

  2. Silverfish. Check these sites to make sure and to get rid of them:
