What is this thinggg!?

Question

ok so you have a laptop.

on the left side/edge of it, like where all the ports and **** are, theres this like button type thing, and when you push it, it like comes out further, then you push it again and it goes back in again. but then this little plastic grid thing comes out haha. what is ittt? & what is it for?

hi, its called a p.c.m.i.a. port and that is the blank that comes out.  The port itself is used if you wish to add any number of products like a wireless Verizon card, external sound card, some video capture devices, etc.  Again, that grid that comes out is simply a blank spacer to protect the internals from dust when the port is not in use :-)

This "button" opens a slot for a PCI-Express card (a video card wifi card ect)
