This appears to be a saw blade and it sits it a bracket that says caraftsman on it. The blade is about 6" in diameter and on the outer edge there are a bunch (over 100) of holes that take up about one inch all the way around. WHAT IS THIS? THANKS

  1. might be a carbide blade for masonry cutting..tile, cement etc.

  2. remember that thing in men in black.  whatever you do don't throw it no matter how tempted you are.  the entire world is counting on you not the throw the masonry/holey thing/blade.  you should start working on your super hero outfit and your name.  what if you were to find yourself slaying something with the holey thing and someone sees you and says look over there it's ------------ with that 6" 200hole disk that sits in a cradle blade thingie. thank god.  work on it!  your pal mike

  3. Sounds to me like a 5 1/2" or 6 1/2" segmented diamond masonry blade.  Some of those have holes drilled in them the way you describe for cooling.  Does it look anything like this?  http://www.globalspec.com/NpaPics/82/350...

The bracket you described could be the blade's carrier.  If it's what I'm thinking, the blade is meant to be taken out of the carrier and installed in an electric circular saw, grinder, stationary tile saw or other electric saw (depending on the blade).  It can then be used to cut cement block, concrete, ceramic tile, stone, brick, clay roofing tiles and even certain kinds of glass.

If that's what it is, it's a fairly valuable blade.

    A photo would really help . . .

  4. idkk..you shoulda put a picc in
