I received a £2 coin in some change last night that I have never seen before. On the tail side it has 1694-1994 and a shield of Brittania. It also seems thicker than the usual ones.

Thanx

  1. It is KM# 968 and is a circulating commemorative, it should say bank of England on the reverse the side with the dates. It commemorates the 300th anniversary of the founding of the bank of England. it has no collector value unless in high mint state or is the proof version.

  2. that could be the new one but i highly doubt it my friend.

    hope this helps...
