The pictures are from Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, just so you know. I've also seen this type of knife/sword/thing in The Lord of the Rings; a few of the Urukai had them in The Two Towers.

Most of the pictures seem to be some sort of " meat cleaver used for chopping things like ribs and other such things with bones .
