Question:

What is this virus/spyware?

Recently I have been getting pop ups on Internet Explorer, despite using Firefox as my main browser.

My contacts on my gmail account have also been recieving junk e-mails from me, from what looks like an e-bay seller.

I have just changed my password on my g-mail account, and I have scanned my computer with my McAfee anti-virus software. Nothing came up on McAfee, and all it's updates are up to date.

Will changing my gmail password be enough to stop my contacts getting junk from me? It's quite embarrassing to say the least!

What's going on? Does anybody recognise this? What can I do?

  2. First you want to make sure that your computer is clear of any viruses:

After you have checked to make sure there aren't any viruses (or completed the removal guide if you do find anything).  Then it would be advised to change your Gmail account.

Problem is you probably had a key logger on the computer that took down your password, which means that even changing it again might not do it unless you're on a secure computer.  Happens a lot with people on MySpace.
