What is this weird thing in my house plant?

I just noticed this light yellow-green thing growing in one of my indoor plants. I want to make sure it's not toxic, as it's on the floor and I have a dog. It's about an inch high, maybe 2-3 inches wide. I notice a couple more starting to poke through the dirt, too. What is it?!

  1. mushrooms remove them quick so the spores dont spread, lighten up on the watering and spray the soil with a mixture of h20,dish soap and alcohol

  2. looks like mushrooms- many are toxic, would definitely research further if I were you.

  3. Ah!  I've had those pop up in my houseplants before.  They're some sort of mushroom.  They'll gradually bloom out into the traditional mushroom shape.

I honestly don't know if they're harmful to the plant (or harmful to the dog).  Mine didn't kill my plant, but I don't know if it could have hurt it in some way.  I'd suggest pulling them out, just in case they are harmful to the dog...

  4. remove it before fido gets to it. yours is a baby but it will grow up to look like this.....

  5. They are a fungus, & more than likely poisonous. I had red ones the same come in my garden. I think they say that brightly coloured fungii are the poison ones.
