The time has rolled around to get myself a good new board. Now this one has the be a real ATV. Imagine a day at Whistler.. going to the bowls in the morning to shred fresh pow for a few hours. Then it's lunch, and i'm late, so i gotta power through the groomers without blinking an eye. after lunch i'm in the park hitting jumps without breaking my legs and sliding through rails and boxes as if they were butter. Money is not an issue, so just give me a great board! I prefer twin tip, or at least "twin-ish" and moderate flex with a lot of pop.

Thanks guys!

  3. The way it sounds, you ride the same way I do. The board I would recomend is the HEAD Crown. It's a twin shape that rips anywhere you take it. It's a bit on the stiffer side, because it is a pipe board. The added stiffness give's it amazing pop in the park and unbelieveable edge hold on the hard pack. Once it's broken in after a few days of riding, it starts to become a little more playful al lower speeds.

Depending on the model year, the Crown usually runs around $500, and it's worth every penny. I plan on buying another one this season.

  4. I would suggest getting a Skate Banana by Lib Tech or something else that has banana technology and magnetraction. I have been looking at a girl's board by Gnu called the B-street that is essentially the female equivalent of the banana. The rocker/magnetraction create basically the perfect all-mountain boards. I know at least for the B-street, it used to be a jib board only, but with the addition of  banana technology it is not only an amazing jib board, but also excels in powder, ice, and landing jumps. Same is true for the skate banana.

The rocker technology (which makes tips of the board face upward when lying on a flat surface, rather than the tips making contact like most boards, while the middle is elevated) is great in powder, likely because the nose of the board is lifted.

The magnetraction creates more of an effective edge, so you can have a smaller board better for throwing around the park that will still perform well on the rest of the mountain, especially in ice.

The skate banana has the flex in the middle not in the nose and tail like most boards which means that it is great for landing jumps. The board is also SUPER buttery. It's also true twin I believe.

While some people don't take to the different technology, the skate banana or other boards with the same tech probably are the most true- all mountain boards.

  5. Ride DH is a sick board, the agent is pretty cool also.  I would suggest the Rome Graft or Forum's youngblood. stiff enough for bigger jumps and a little pow but soft enough for jibs.  I wouldn't suggest the rome artifact for anything but jibs, seeing as it IS a jib board.

  6. Rome artifact, '08 and '09 is wicked buttery.

  7. Yeah the Rome artifact is a SICK ride, I love the '08 detail myself. Just stick with Rome, they're quality.
