I think you mean Thueringia!  It would have the Thüringia over the  U to be exact.

It is located in the center basically of the country and was part of the border line between East and West.

I travel to Weimar every year which is in that area. They have a great yearly festival in October's first weekend called the Zweibal Markt or Onion Market.  Their Christmas Market is also very nice too.

Jena and Erfurt are not far away nor is Eisenach Castle where Martin Luther was held prisoner. Their is a lot to see every where in Germany not just Thüringia which I like very much as well. The South, North and West are also great to see!
