Maybe he's thirsty, my cats actually drink out of the tub, toilet and sink when we forget to refill their bowl. Maybe he is just fascinated with it!

haha i have a kitten and she just realised that there is water in the toilet and i kept finding her with wet paws! i caught her drinking the water the other day which was grose so i try and keep the toilet seat down but the reason they love the water from the toilet is because cats love drinking from ceramic .. perhaps get tigger a ceramic water bowl or just let him drink from a coffee mug .. my parents cat drinks from a fish tank .. the fish has long died but she loves the taste of the planty water? they just keep filling it up for her

They love to watch the water go "whoosh" around the bowl. I had a Persian once that loved to play in the toilet if the lid wasn't kept down at all times. Be mindful of keeping your toilet bowl free of chemicals if your cat or dog plays or drinks out of it. And I guarantee, that if they play in it they are probably drinking out of it as well.

The cats we have now enjoy bath water better than toilet water.
