What is to much for a monthly water bill .?

Our monthly water bill came in for $ 80.00 we have 12 people living in our home 7 kids 3 young adults and 2 over 50 . How much do you think it should be. I think thats good my husband thinks its very high.

  1. There are 3 adults and 2 kids in our house and our water bill is about $65/month in SE PA.  How many gallons/month are you using? That's a better measure since per gallon cost varies so much.


  2. Just curious, since when did people 50 stop being adults?

    $80/month for 12 comes to $6.66/month per person - I don't think it is too high.  If anything, it's too low, considering all other expenses you have./

  3. I always figure my water bill on about 8 dollars per person. It's always worked for us. up to 5 people even. That's in Utah though. not sure where you live.  

  4. That sounds pretty good to me. I don't have a water bill (i have a well) but my niece's water bill runs about 50 a month for her and her husband. Hope it helps.

  5. That sounds fairly reasonable. I live alone, in an apartment, and my water bill averages $28 a month. That also coverages trash collection and the county charge for sewage.
