  1. Torrent files are not stored anywhere on the internet, they are stored on people's computers. When you download a torrent, you are downloading from anyone who has the current file on their computer and shares it. Torrent downloads are usually fast and efficient due to the intelligence of Torrent programs. The programs will differentiate between slower and faster internet connections, the likelihood of a seeder to stop seeding, and how much of a certain section of the file is available among other things to make sure that you get the files as fast as possilble and that the full file will always be available. Some examples of torrent software are BitTorrent, BitComet and Azureus.


  2. in simple words, lets say there is a movie somewhere on the net and people want to download it,

    so those people who are downloading it into there computer, the downloaded part also gets uploded (i.e. available) to other users and this is how the network countinues.
