  1. Trigger finger is hyper-flexion of the distal phalanx of a finger. In non-medical speak, it means the end-bone of your finger is bent inwards towards your palm without any bending of the other joints. Yes children can get it, anyone can. Usually caused by trauma to the tip of the finger forcing the tendons out of place (for example, trying to catch a football and it strikes the finger head on). Can be very painful, but easily treated, go to an emergency room and they will X-Ray it (to make sure no fracture),  put it back in place and give you a splint.
