I've heard we are doing it for camp this year, just wondering what exactly is it? Are there different types of tubing? Because from what I have heard and researched, it seems that there are some tubing where you are connected to a back of a boat, but also where you travel down a river or a lake.

Is it fun? Is it okay for people like me who are not good with rollercoaster rides and that kinda feeling?

  1. it can be done behind a boay , since you will be attending camp this is the version you will be doing . you are towed in a large truck style inertube behind a slow moving boat . under close observation . vert safe and supervised . the other form is the same tube in a very fast , flowing river or creek . this is very very dangerous . avoid this one . tour version , similar to waterskiing without the falls , or training , much more fun than water skiing

  2. r u going 2 camp burleigh?

  3. There are two types of 'tubing' activity, just as you have discovered.  One is indeed being pulled behind a boat while you are on a large innertube, like skiing while sitting.  The danger in this lies mostly with whomever is driving the boat - how fast they go, how hard they turn and how well they look out for obstacles like floating wood, grass, the shore, other boats, etc.  The other type of 'tubing' is slowly floating down a stream or small river.  It is a blast, there is always a lot of nature to watch along the way, and time to laugh, joke and talk with friends while you're floating along.  Some people take frisbies or a beachball and toss it back and forth, some people take refreshments.  Depending on what time of day and where you go, you may need a lot of sunscreen as some areas don't have a lot of shade, and if you're going to the Itchetucknee in Florida be prepared, that water is FREEZING !!!!!!!  Hope you have fun, whichever it is!
