  1. It sounds like you answered your own question.  It's obviously some sort of filter for foul language while watching DVDs or VHS tapes.

    Sounds like a waste of money to me.  So...it'll mute out what it thinks is vulgar language, meaning you can watch something like Scarface in complete silence?

    Basic cable channels have done things like this for years, but it seems pretty pointless to me since it only mutes or bleeps the middle of the word.  Really now, if you heard "a_mute_hole" on TV, are you really going to feel better about not having heard those two letters?  How many bleep-able words do you know start with "a" and end with "hole"?
