  1. Twin lead is simply a pair of wires separated by insulation.  It may be twisted pair, or it may be non-twisted.

    If the wire diameter and the spacing of the 2 wires is controlled and at a certain spacing, then the impedance of the cable pair can be set to 300 Ohms.  

    300 Ohm twin-lead is commonly used as transmission line for receiving VHF band television signals.
