What is typical traffic like on LIE/towards Eastern LI

I dont live in NYC, but am visiting NYC with two different friends, heading from queens to bellerose,ny. How busy is LIE heading oppositie manhattan around 1130am?

Would that be faster or taking Grnad Central Parkway be faster?

I would recommend the Grand Central Parkway over the LIE.  That highway often gets congested from around woodhaven blvd out as far as main street.  You might find it clear at that time of dfay, but back-ups are common.

At that time of day the traffic will be pretty light going in either direction.
