What is unaccompanied baggage?

Don't walk away from your baggage, it's a security issue. They worry that a bag by itself might be a bomb, or someone might steal it or sneak contraband into it. Your airline will not ship a bag on a flight that you're not on.

When your luggage is on the plane, but you are not.  If you check your baggage, but do not get on the place, thy hold up the place while they dig through all the luggage trying to find your piece.

"Unattended luggage" is that which is left in the terminal while someone goes to the washroom.  Unattended luggage is also not allowed as it could potentially be a bomb.
