If the restaurant is up scale you know.  Good service, unique menu where things are not "canned".  Chains tend not to be up scale.  Yes Ruth Chris is but they are the exception.  Nice linnens on the table not plastic easily wiped down.  Cloth napkins, a wine list that does not have a lot of s***w caps.    Average price of an entree can be from $20-$30 a plate.

    Actually it's a restaurant that charges a lot of money for it's food based mostly on it's reputation and clientele.  If you look in a restaurant guide, it will usually have the most $$ for it's rating.  A good example of this would be Ruth Chris Steak House.
