Every 2-5 minutes they have a little screen pop up with a commercial and the race being seen as well as the normal commercials as well.... That was about 6 commercials or so 5 minutes....It just seems like a lot of breaking. Stick with one format or the other. What do you think?

  1. It SUX  !

  2. Yeah I noticed it too. I really don't care for it and yes it seems like more commercials this way.

  3. i like the Wide Open Coverage concept of auto racing, but TNT is proving how not to do this.

ESPN/ABC is the best at this

almost every commerical break that the IRL takes during an IRL race. they put the commerical on the screen and let you see the action (but in a smaller screen.)

if NASCAR finally lets ESPN/ABC do this for NASCAR races om ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN Classic (for when they are forced to do an live broadcast of an NASCAR race) and ABC, they would have to put a split screen with the race at 16:9 on top for those with 4:3 TVs and the bottom a commercial with the "this race (name of race in place of this race) is presented by "company who sponsors ad here" (ex: Pepsi) and race ticker at the left corner.

  4. This is the 2nd annual "Wide Open Coverage."  They did it last year for the summer Daytona race as well.  It lets us see the whole race.  The only time they take the race away is during mandatory local station requirements.

I prefer it!  I don't listen to them much anyway.  And, it may seem like it pops up a lot, but believe me- it is much less than usual!

  5. LOVE IT! almost reminds me of when POCONO was a pay per view event.

  6. There is way to much to look at, I am going crazy just watching it.

  7. I guess the set up is ok.  At least we get to continue to see the race.  But I am so sick of the Saving Grace and The Closer commercials...between yesterday's race and today, I don't think I ever want to watch those shows.

  8. I think it's much better than the normal format. I look forward to this race just for the fact that except for the 'local breaks' you can still watch the race even when they are showing a commercial. I'll take this set up anyday.

  9. It's pretty sad when the announcers have started plugging the sponsors. IE the Coors plugs.

  10. This Ain't Gonna Get It!

  11. It's very distracting,They might as well just go to full commercial.

    GO GORDON!!!!!

  12. idk but i was pissed about it cuz tnt sucks and u couldnt see the d**n race i mean caution comes out and they said nothing it was bullsh!t
