What is up with all these "feed a child in just a click" websites?

Do these websites actually help or is it a scam?

Will they just leave a child without food because no one clicked?

  1. well click it anyway. if its a scam, you lost what 5 seconds of your life?

  2. I'm not sure but I think it sounds like a scam. Most likely it takes all your info from your PC when u go on the website. So be careful.

    Thanks for the heads up though.

  3. .com = scam,

    .org = not scam

  4. its probably helping

  5. Easiest way to your credit card is through this approach. If the child is fed, no one knows. If the administration is taking your funds on behalf of the child, this may be a possibility ie Katrina.

  6. Depends on the site you are talking about. And obviously they wouldn't LEAVE someone hungry if they could help it, but its harder than you would think to feed starving children.

  7. I do,  http://freerice.com

    I also donate to " Feed The Children ".

  8. Basically it's a company trying to advertise that they are charitable by giving money according to how many people see that they will donate. Basically a "We'll help people if everyone knows were doing it." thing to get out of donating just to help.

  9. The websites are NOT a scam. They are a clever combination of advertising and marketing, that actually result in donations but cost you nothing.

    You go to the site, click to make a donation, and advertisers on the site donate money to the cause.

    Food paid for by the site's sponsors is distributed by Mercy Corps worldwide and by America's Second Harvest to food banks throughout the United States.

    There is also a hope that you will shop at the website for products, a portion of the sales profits of which also go to the cause being promoted:
