What is up with bashing Americans?

I was born here but lived in Europe and I just got to say 15 years ago they were light years ahead of us. In education and health care. It was Finland,Sweden, and London. Finland was the best. It's strange I get homesick for there now that I am stateside. But In your defense people there hated the high taxes and there is no perfect country but we can always do better and should strive to. That's what leaders do. If ours fail us and our global neighbors than we have to wear the shoe if it fits.

Its common to hate the big kid on the block,The guy from Canada is my favorite so far,what a joke that he thinks Canada is so different than the United States,he is just another on the bashing bandwagon,he even had jobs down here that fed his family and paid his bills and thats the thanks we get,what a follower,Ive been to Canada and have friends there and can tell you that our two countries are very much alike so that guys just following the pack,its pretty sad actually.People dont realize how much we have done for the world or how stable things are because of us,they think we are stupid yet 8 of the top 10 colleges in the world are in America,let them hate

Stop being paranoid.  Polite, lovely, warm people from other countries very much enjoy polite, lovely, warm people from the US.

As far as the US government's current administration is concerned, however, the rest of the world looks at us and goes WTF...

And....the opinion at issue is that Americans are insular and provincial as far as the rest of the world is concerned - that we (as a whole) have little knowledge of and no interest in what's happening in other countries or their cultures.

It's fair to say that Europe is and has been FAR ahead of the US in many, many ways.  It's just that we Americans haven't given the issues at hand or in the future much thought - until we are slung up against the wall and forced to face them - because Europe has survived the eons and we are still "the kids".

We do things that deserve bashing.  We act like we are superior to the rest of the world while we turned what should have been a simple military operation into a major fiasco.  What do you expect the rest of the world to think?

Most of them are just flat out jealous, French, or stupid. A few will have legit beefs.
