  1. It's the same reason that has always applied - Attitude.

I've racked my brain for years wondering why the English don't dominate the world in Rugby, Soccer and Cricket - For me the answer is they have a defeatist attitude.

They lack the mental toughness of Australia or the reserve of a weaker team like N.Z.   They just don't have the winning mindset.

Will it change? - Not until the stereotype of the whinging pom changes, but you're here whinging about your team.

Well, maybe not whinging but I bet most of the supporters are.

  2. they are fighting

  3. they r making to many changes in their starting line up

  4. Nothing. This is how they normally play.

  5. wass up, lol !

Fred is back, they will be fine now !

  6. They need consistancy in batting line up as they are strong in bowling

  7. thye are in their down time again.... tsk tsk tsk

EDIT; well there's a twist in this game, england put the SA on pressure, more likely to win this game

  8. They have come back in the 2nd innings and are in a position to pur pressure on South Africa in this test.

  9. The first problem is that of talent deficit. Where are players of class Ian Botham, Sydney F Barnes, Tony Greig, Maurice Tate, Wally Hammond, Trueman, Bedser, etc  ?

The next problem is - I see selection deficiencies. I have not analysed the relative county-level performances but I believe that they are ignoring good talent and selecting lower level players. Stuart Broad, after all those all-round performances, should not have been dropped at all in favour of Paul Collingwood whose performances do not merit inclusion in the English 11. (Stuart Broad's loss % of matches in the total matches he played is only 12.5 whereas that of Collingwood is 32. If Collingwood is there in the team, the chances of loss are more whereas Stuart Broad appears to be a lucky mascot for England which has lost only one match when he was in the team) Similarly, Chris Tremlett took 13 wickets in 3 test matches and he was dumped. For what ? What more can Tremlett do ?

Probably the team should consist of Strauss, Cook, Bell, Pietersen, Vaughan, Ambrose (or Prior), Broad (as all-rounder), Tremlett, Anderson, Sidebottom and Panesar.

Now that Freddie is back, he should come in place of Panesar.
