What is up with the new rugby style punting in college football?

Does it really punt that much further? Any videos of it? How is it different?

it is different because the punter gets a running start on the punt...what it's really designed to do is keep the punt from being blocked, it doesn't make the punts go any further generally although they do tend to roll further when kicking on the run

I will give you a team who does it often. South Carolina did way to often last year an to be quite honest with you i think it was a bad decison to do those.
