One was a manager in the telephone company, and allegedly did work with Al Capone?  The other was the Head of Maintanance in an University - all five locations and allegedly got a telephone call from Frank Kelly. (Machine Gun Kelly?)

I don't know about my Mom's Dad, but my Dad's Dad owned a newspaper business and photography business.  His business burned down and he lost everything.

(That was about a century ago.)

One was a successful businessman in Virginia, dabbling in many business adventures in his life and was well respected in his community and by the Free Masons with which he belonged.  The other I never knew but what little we know suggests he worked in the WV coal mines then moved to PA where he probably worked in some mine or factory.

My great grandfather was a nuclear physicist. And he also wrote chemistry books for colleges.

My grandfather on my mother's side was a carpenter.

My grandfather on my father's side was a worker for Watts Bar in the computer technician field.

One was an electrician, who wired the LA Coliseum for the 1932 Olympics. He later retired as a notary public.

The other one was a lumberjack, cowboy, and general jack of all trades. He rolled his own cigarettes with one hand, a skill learned in his cowboy days.

One was a machinist on the Pennsylvania Railroad after serving the U.S. in World War I and the other was a school teacher/principal after being a chief metalurgist and chemist for Bohn Aluminum during World War II. Two very different men, with very different lives.  One grandfather was old enough to be my other grandfathers father.   I owe a debt of gratitude to them both to contributing to the person I am today.
