What is used to weld a band saw blade correctly?

Is it regular mild iron,silver sauder,or what?

  2. Usually induction welded at the factory., but a machine shop ( with bandsaws ) should be able to do it as mentioned.

    Some older industrial bandsaws had a small "built in" welder to anneal &  splice blades on the spot.

  3. The blade is a mild steel and must be annealled. The ends of the blade are placed in the terminal clamps and pressed together. Then,  high voltage is applied to melt the ends together. The resulting bump at the joint is ground down and the blade is ready to go. Any machine shop can do this for you for a minimum charge.
