The oscillator of a 95.7 MHz FM station has an inductance of 1.7 microHenry. What value must the capacitance be?

Answer: 1.63E-12

I didn't get this answer. Here's what i did:

C = 1/(w^2L) = 1/[4*pi^2x 95.7x10^6)^2(1.7x10^-6)

= 6.31E9

  1. so you used LC=1/w/w = 1/4/pi^2/9.57^2/1e14 then divided by 1.7e-6 H looks good to me for a series LC circuit.  Answer is 1.63e-12

    Your brackets [() are all over the place - try again and I bet it comes out ok

  2. ωL = 1/ωC

    C = 1/(2πf)²L

    C = 1.63e-12 = 1.63 pf

    I think you made an arithmetic mistake.
