  1. Our budget was 10,000, but I got it down to $8500 with lots of "shopping around" and DYI projects. I'm getting married this month, August 2008 at a beautiful banquet hall in Chicago, IL We chose this because tye provide everything for you.  One stop shoopping so to speak. We are serving Chicken, twice baked potatoes, glazed carrots, and a bailey irish cream wedding cake.  We also have hor deurves of chicken and beef satay and crab cakes.  Our colors are black, white, red. We wanted a clean contemporary look. We are using real flowers, cala lillies and roses.

  2. wedding budget is going to be 1850.00 for 50 guests.we're having it at a park(45.00 fee)ceremony and reception there. We'll be serving brisket and chicken with two sides(400.00)and appetizers also. Our colors will be blue and white.I'm only buying 8 huge flower pots that will cost me 260.00.There going to be real.I'm not having a dj.Mother in law making cake and sis in law taking pics.security guards(250.00).Alcohol(200).Grooms ring(200)I will be paying for mostly everything else with giftcards that I will be getting on Christmas. This budget doesnt include my wedding band or wedding dress, but this is how much the wedding band was(600)and dress(200).I bought these a year ago so basically our wedding will be $2700.

  3. We will be married Saturday, September 19, 2009.

We will marry at the garden of a local inn, and have the reception at a local town center, both in West Virginia.

Since we're having a 2 o'clock ceremony--a time when our guests have already had lunch, and won't be expecting a huge meal--we're serving light food:

Food trays, two dishes prepared by a chef friend, desert, a wedding cupcake tower, and a candy buffet.

Since we're having an English Garden wedding, we chose kiwi, pale pink, white, and silver for colors.

We're using real kiwi-centered, pale pink gerbera daisies for the bridesmaids' bouquets and the centerpieces.

My bridal bouquet is being made by an Etsy seller from felt, wire, and vintage buttons. They are gorgeous, lasting, and unique.

  4. I was married 33 years ago in June, in a beautiful church in Savannah Georgia....we had our reception at an old mansion that belonged to one of my mothers friends.  We had a dinner, steak, chicken, lobster, fish, side dishes, and lots of booze. My flowers were all real, gardenias were my main flower.....my colors were all spring colors, the girls all wore different color of dresses....it was beautiful, I remember it like it was yesterday, I still love to smell gardenias, my husband gives them to me at every anniversary I have no idea on how much my parents spent on the wedding.  I know my dress was 2500.00, and I know my father thru a fit about the cost of the flowers....

  5. I'm planning on getting married within the next five years, time enough to finish with school and land a real career, etc. I've been looking into wedding planning and originally, I had decided on a budget of 10,000 dollars, thinking that that was too much. Then I started looking at venues for the reception, and since most of the places that would be worth having a wedding at in my area would cost upwards of 7,000 for both catering and venue fees, I decided to up it to 15,000. My dream wedding would be at the Kirk in the Hills, a church noted for it's beautiful architecture in South East Michigan. The cost for that is pretty steep for a ceremony venue, plus also, you have to be a member of the church, which I am not, and I'm not nearly mercenary enough to join just so I can get married there. The reception would be at the Canterbury Village Banquet Hall, which has beautiful wood workings and antiques from France and tapestries and suits of armor, and fire places (sigh) and there, for the venue and catering, with a really good bar selection it'd be about 8 to 9,000. All the food on the catering menu looked really good so I'm not even sure what I'd choose. My colors would be garnet and silver, with cream accents. I'd make rose and white pomanders to hang on the chairs for the reception out of real red and white carnations. All in all, my dream wedding would probably cost upwards of 20,000. Then probably add another 8,000 to 10,000 for the honeymoon...Here's hoping I land a job with six figures! lol.

  6. Getting married on a private beach in 2010. Will have ceremony and reception in tent set up on the beach.

    Going with a fish/chicken combo

Colors are white, black and gold

    Real Calla lilies and roses.

  7. My plan was to marry the man I loved and not be bothered with people (relatives) bickering over cost, appearance, what's proper/what's not.

    - I wanted to enjoy the day and not be stressed over it.

We got married at the court house in a small ceremony, no one but us and the judge.  I loved it.  All I had to do was concentrate on him and him on me.  We had a small cake and champagne after. I wore a cream lace outfit and he had on a brown suit. I had a lovely flower arrangement of pink roses.  We took the money that would have gone to the wedding and spent a week in Las Vegas doing everything we wanted to do.

We were married Sept 28, 2007

  8. We still haven't picked a date yet, we just know we want it to be outdoors in the fall.

My budget is $1500! We're having a small wedding in which we're inviting three of each of our best friends. We're wearing jeans and sweaters/long sleeve shirts and we're going to get married on a mountain. Our reception is going to be us and our friends going to a restaurant or to someone's house for dinner and maybe going to see a movie or going bowling. Our flowers will be fake, but we aren't sure what kind we want to use yet.

  9. Well I'm not married yet but will be very soon so i am going to answer :P

I'm getting married on Nov 1.

Our ceremony will be held at a lovely park on the river.

Our reception is in the function room at a hotel about 10mins away from the ceremony.

Our guests will be eating the following:

1)Tomato and basil soup OR caesar salad with bacon and a poached egg

2)Roasted Porterhouse with hasselback potatoes and a medley of veggies OR baked chicken stuffed with herbs and camenbert cheese

    3) apple strudel OR brandy snap basket with fresh fruit

    4) choc whiskey hazelnut wedding cake

Our colours are black, white and champagne.

Our flowers are champagne roses tied with black ribbon and they are real.

  10. Our budget was $500 bucks.

A trip to vegas and fed the guests In-n-Out Burger.

It was AWESOME!  No family arguing about the wedding, no big hassel, plus we had lots of cash to start our lives.
