  1. It is a program designed to assist water and wastewater service providers in communicating the value of our nation’s water and wastewater infrastructure.

    The initiative is an on-going public education program of the Water Environment Federation (WEF) with support from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA).

    It includes:

    Environmental planning, impact assessment, and management for

    Oil & gas development

    Water resources development -- flood control, drainage, irrigation, river engineering, and power generation programmes, project portfolios, and projects

    Water-related development -- agriculture, open water fishery, aquaculture, forestry, and other initiatives linked to water resources

    Water supply system development & rehabilitation

    Groundwater & geochemistry studies

    Multisectoral planning -- regional planning and river basin planning to achieve social and economic development goals

    Water quality/pollution management -- planning and designing monitoring programs, analyzing and interpreting data, arsenic-related investigations

    Wetland biodiversity management
