  1. January and February are supposed to be our coldest months with average temperatures on the coast rising from 17*C in the daytime to 5-6*C at night. You can expect mostly sunny weather and  occasionally some rain. It is also the time of year that it usually snows in the mountains. Hope this helps.

  2. It's nice and sunny but because most property is built out of concrete it can feel cold inside in Jan, Feb.

March, April would be a nicer time to come not so cold inside.

  3. Be prepared for some cloud & rain, but a fair bit of sun too!

Whereabouts are you going to be staying? On Mount Olympus there will probably be snow.

It is a lovely time to go as you can get out & about walking, seeing sites etc without it being too hot or too crowded.

I have been to Cyprus every month of the year & now live in Greece, & despite some rainy days (very much needed!), I much prefer the autumn, winter & spring.

  4. Well, January and February are our most unpredictable months! It can be very warm and sunny in the day time, and then temperatures can drop considerably at night. We also get some bitterly cold winds at this time of year. In previous years, these are the months when traditionally we would get most of our rain, though, we havent had any substantial rain for the past two years, and are currently experiencing drought conditions, with water being turned of for two or three days at a time.

Where were you thinking of staying? A lot of places close down for the winter months! ( From the end of October to early April) For instance; although one or two of the hotels are open in Protaras, only one of the bars; The Greenery is open....none of the other bars, shops or restaurants are open at all! It becomes a ghost town. Same goes for Agia Napa, a lot of the hotels close down, and only a few of the bars and restaurants will open. Paphos is pretty much the same, being a hive of activity in the daytime, most of the bars and restaurants close at night. So, If you still intend to visit during these months, its worthchecking these things out, and maybe consider a hotel with full board deals...and possibly entertainment thrown in.

I'm not trying to put you off, because it can be a good time to come...obviously, you will escape all the Summer crowds..but you do need to be prepared for very changeable weather.

Its very hot here at the moment, with temperatures between 35C-37C, and though here in the villages, we have our water turned off regularly, this isn't affecting the tourist industry in any way.

I live in Xylofagou, not far from Agia Napa.
