  1. Wireless Internet aka WIFI  Chekc the link below

  2. its when the internet connector is not plugged into the computer but a wireless modem/router box sends signals from it to the computer to get a internet signal.

  3. It is exactly what you think it is, Internet that you can get wirelessly.

    I'll explain how it works:

    1. You call your ISP, and ask about wireless internet.

    2. You cut a deal, and they charge you.

    3. They bring out a tech with a router, he installs it.

    4. That router, which would mostl likely be connected to a modem, will transmit a broadcasting signal to all computers within in the household, and whichever ones respond it sends a feed of bandwidth.

Yes, internet can become very, very fast. Almost anywhere that has wired internet will have an ISP that supports wireless.

Nearly any computer that's 32-bit will support wireless, if it has a built-in card, or a PCI card, or a USB wireless card.

  4. Wireless is when you don't have to hook up a DSL or some cable to your pc.  You put a wireless card in it and it picks up the signal from the main router etc.  If you have a wireless card you can use it.  It works on pc and laptops.  It is broadband.  Why don't you talk to your local ISP?

  5. There are two totally different technologies, which are easily confused.

Classic "WiFi" is essentially a device that works like a cordless phone.  You plug it into your network, and you can be on that network wirelessly.  Commonly places like coffee shops will setup WiFi so that anybody can use it.  Most people these days set it up so that you need a password to get on their network (to prevent you from hacking into their computer, snooping on their on-line banking, etc.).  So your "area" only supports it if someone (maybe you) have setup a WiFi device that you can talk to.  A WiFi device plugs into a network, any network, however, typically we are talking about broadband networks (Cable Modem or DSL).  Not many people have a local area network that connects to the internet through some dial up technology.  WiFi is relatively short range, about the same range as a cordless (land-line) phone.

The other technology is something that Cell phone companies have come up with.  It uses cell phone technology, so you can use it as long as you can talk to a cell phone tower of your phone provider.  Having said that, the standard cell phone equipment needs to be upgraded (if it hasn't already been) to support this technology.  The advantage is, you can use it just about anywhere that you can get cell phone coverage (in a major city).  Now this is not dial up (you can get dial up cell phone based modems too) - it is faster, though not as fast as WiFi/broadband.  So you sacrifice some speed for the convience of mobility.

Typically when someone refers to "wireless internet" they mean internet access via WiFi.

  6. now 99% of areas will provide and support wireless connections.

on your main computer they can install a router then on your laptop they can connect it to that router system using the name you have given it.

then depending on what router you bought, you will be able to take you laptop anywhere within the distance of router connections.

Yes you can have it on broadband.

you can have any internet deal on a wireless connection. the computer will just see it as one computers usage.

i hope this helps! :) xx
