What is with purple dvds?

i got a dvd from this company and it had a purple back and whenever i try to play it it stops and skips can anyone tell me why?????

That's what I use when I burn all the movies I rent... I mean make legal backup copies of all the movies I own just in case of an accident.

It does seem like they scratch a little easier than a factory dvd though.

its s***. dont use it. ask for your money. it's probably pirated.

A purple DVD playing surface means that it is a recordable dvd, not a factory pressing. It will be less reliable and have a shorter life than a factory DVD. Movies on DVD-R are typically bootlegs. Get your money back, if you can.
