Question:

What is with the attitude of football players and their wives?

I work at a stadium for a CFL team (not naming the name) and have had bad encounters with players and their wives. You hear things from players like "MF security wouldn't let my family in" or the prissy attitude of the wives flashing the rings (which could be fake or stolen) in your face and thinking that is a form of ID to get into the building. How are we suppost to know who is a family member of the players if they have no ID- anyone could walk in and say that and they expect us to just let them in. It's not like anyone would recognize a family member like they would the players and they know they are suppost to have passes. If we did that we'd sure have complaints of people being in the dressing rooms or other areas who aren't suppost to be there. I know its not all players but it is quite a few and their wives (especially the wives) that have the "rules don't apply to me" attitude. Has this happened to anyone- CFL or NFL.

  2. give out id for stuck up VIPs[families] and by the way keep doing your job worked security at a gas station in Detroit in a hi crime area  so i feel your pain

  3. You should give out a ID Card to all the team members, which they can give to their families for entry. Stress that people without a ID will not be allowed entry.

If they've been told about it, it's their fault

  4. that kind of bs happens everywhere.A good friend of mine works front desk security at a hospital during graveyard shift and plain clothed doctors he doesn't recognize walk past him wearing no ID all the time and get pissed at him for stopping them.

  5. Football players behaving badly?-I'm shocked and appalled. I have worked security in a stadium and I know how you feel. It's not just the players and their wives, club "insiders" and journalists can be jerks too. I once had an unpleasant encounter with a certain lady curler/CBC reporter who neglected to bring her pass with her to a football game. She was all like "don't you know who I am?"-but the rule is you need to have your pass to be where she was.
