The have a black guy who hates black people. There is a black guy married to a white women and people make a big deal of it. What was very weird is these two white guys, apparently, they have blonde hair and blues eyes, but they talk like you would hear black people talk. I heard white guys who use slang, but they don't sound like those guys. Are those guys white or black on the cartoon?

  1. The black man who hates black people (Uncle Ruckus) is meant to be ironic. They make a big deal over a black man married to a white woman to make fun of how people still have preconceptions about interracial relationships in modern America. And the the guys that look white are white but act black to make fun of how a lot of white guys try to act black.

  2. its meant to educate black peole about the many stereotypes that they often fall into...it exaggerates common stereotypes

    Tom Dubois(name taken from uncle tom)

    is a succcessful black lawyer that married a white woman and has lost all traces of black culture form his personality

    his daughter is mixed child that is confused about her race

    Riley

    is a young black child that copies everything he see's on BET, everything from clothing the way he speaks and even his habits like, shooting poeple, and stealing and such

    his brother fits the Militant black man stereotype,

    he is very smart, but he blames the "white man" for everything, and he is often wrong in doing so but at times he is right and that makes him thing everything he thinks is right

    and the two guys you mentioned in the show fit the "wigger stereotype" they are two rish white kids that have copied  everything ghetto that they have ever seen

    the acters that are their voices are  Samuel L. Jackson, and Charlie Murphy

    @John

    He has said in a few articles that the huey character(militant black  child) was based on himself....so you are right

    @Honesty

    The episode about R KElly had no  hatred or wroing doing against white poeple in it,, the whole show was about how black poeple will support any black person on trial regardless of the evidence against them, yet the character huey's last lines on the show were and I quote "well I cant blame this one on white poeple, wait what am I saying of course I can"

  3. I've glanced at them, but never bothered to read them. They seem very depressing in my view. I'll stick with Garfield and Peanuts any day. Just my view.

  4. The cartoon is golden and shows stereotypes and misconception about black people.

  5. It's satire. Speaking of which why does everyone on here call me uncle ruckus? I don't kiss up to white people

  6. They are white they just talk black.

    The guys with blond hair and blue eye are white characters that have black voices. Whoever gave me the thumbs down need to either

    a. watch the show or

    b. read the fine print of the question &

    c. how the h**l I get a thumbs down and mrs.chang goes   unnoticed?

    Besides the one I gave her.

  7. Apparently you don't understand the ideas of satire, irony, or sarcasm. The above mentioned are all elements of literature/media that are meant to draw attention in an amusing manner to ridiculous elements of society.

  8. the maker of the cartoon is named aaron mcgruder and he's black. it started off as a comic strip. many of the newer characters (such as uncle ruckus, the black guy that hates black people and ed and remmy , the two rich white guys that talk "black") were created just for the show. it was a cartoon originally carried in local newspapers throughout the country. boondocks gained popularity originally as a college newspapers but it was eventually picked up by newspapers nationally.

    *edit* i tried not to comment on this, but for the record huey does NOT try to blame all of the problems in the black community on whites. if you watch carefully, you'll notice that huey understands and points out many of the problems in the black community and he tries to correct those problems in people. he felt that r. kelly was guilty (as do i) and he was disgusted with how blacks cheered that guilty b*****d on. huey also pointed out how blacks have poor diets in the episode about "the itis" and he promoted eating healthy by telling grand dad that cooking broccoli with pork made it unhealthy. huey, much like myself, understands the problems in the black community and he thinks its high time that we start to take responsibilty for ourselves, however we shouldn't ignore the historical events that led black america to where we are today.

  9. Uncle Rukus should have his own hour long show.  I can't get enough of that character.

    "BOOOO...get yo black monkey @sses off my lawn..BOOO! "

    Funny stuff.   But yeah I get it that it is all about sterotypes.  But McGruder himself seems to be the militant "everything is racism" kind of dude.
