What is with the footers?

YG has added footers about related groups to our mail and we want it to stop. There is no reason for it. What are they doing this for?

Because they gain money through advertising. Just like the rest of the internet.

ads for other yahoo groups would not generate a whole lot of money. this feature was added due to suggestions to yahoo from group owners of newly formed groups.
