  1. i hate how everyone 'has to be like the famous people'.

kids have no childhood these days. therefore it is no wonder how they continually make stupid choices and get knocked up or whatever when they hit their teens.

parents need to claim some responsibility.

i don't think we were allowed make up type products at least until the age of 10 and then it was just like childrens lipstick and that is about all.

i would NEVER give my 4 year old make up.

  2. I think the celebrities and publicists are to blame.  Their the ones that make children think and do certain things, not necessarily the parents.

  3. Oh yea i had a great role model when i was young, Spice girls, britney spears, lol not much different than now

I would never blame the parents, how is it their fault,

I love Miley and i think she is such a GREAT role model for young kids, she doens't drink, smoke, or do drugs, she has a great backround and is very innocent

  4. 4th answerer-i loved your answer and gave you a thumbs up =]

i agree with that answer completely and just want to say one thing

i hate this generation because a lot of little 10 year old girls are wearing mini skirts and abercrombie and hollister, and THAT is ridiculous. that makes me mad actually.

but a 4 year old wanting to look like miley cyrus isnt bad.

the 10 year olds will prolly end up being s***s, and the parents ARE to blame for that.

but a 4 year old wanting to look like miley is nothing at all to worry about it. i wouldnt let the child have make up, i would suggest to the child a shirt or something with miley/hannahs face on it.

  5. When I was in first grade, I remember the girls in my class singing along to Britney Spears while our mothers rolled their eyes. We were 6 years old. And look at how Britney is now. She was not a good role model for us, but we turned out fine.

This generation is the same as my generation. They're not suddenly horrible. These girls I babysit for, they like stupid celebrities and stupid music and wear BabyPhat because all the other little girls do. They're also sweet, artistic, a little unpopular, and compassionate, and they're wonderful little girls. They'll grow out of it, just like my generation grew out of our Britney Spears obsession. Everyone says the generation below then is horrible and sltty and stupid and defiant, but they're really not. They're fine.

That 4 year old's mother might not have made the right choice to buy makeup for her kid, but she doesn't represent all moms of 4 year olds. The world today is fine.

And if a kid if going to look up to a celebrity, Miley isn't that bad. She's sweet and her character, Hannah Montana, isn't that bad either. The little girls want to be like her, so they wear makeup and the clothes she endorses. How is it different then a mother putting makeup on her daughter because the daughter wants to be like her mommy? My mom once put makeup on me when I was little because I wanted to be like my mom and wear makeup. It's not that different.

Yes, if I had a daughter I wouldn't want them begging to wear Miley Cyrus stuff. But, in the grand perspective of things ... it was Britney for my generation, it's Miley for this one, and both generations are okay. Wanting to be like a celeb is stupid, but it's not as bad as you think it is, and it's not a problem unique to today's kindergarteners.

  6. Yes, the parents are to blame when their little girls are acting and dressing like s***s. Celebrities are not responsible for anyone but themselves and their own children/family.

Parents today don't use their brain anymore and expect the TV to raise their kids. STOP BLAMING THE TV FOR YOUR STUPID CHILDREN! (not directed at the poster, just parents in general.)

  7. I feel like I've seen this question like five times today, but I'll answer anyway.  If little kids want to look up to Hannah Montana, then let them.  She hasn't done anything too screwy yet ("yet" being the operative word)...  And if everyone continues to bash Miley, then she might just lash out and s***w up her life like Lindsey or Britney or any of those people.  So let's just cross our fingers that she continues to be a "good" rolemodel.  But little kids can look up to whomever they want.  Even so, I mean ask any four year old - they think people like Miley Cyrus and Jamie Lynn Spears are adults, so they see Jamie Lynn Spears having a baby equal to their mommy having a baby... They don't see a difference.  Looking up to someone when you're four means you want to look like them or wear clothes with their face on it - little kids have no idea what is actually going on with celebs (they don't watch VH1 or read celeb magazines), so just let them be ignorant and think Miley is pretty.
