  1. No.  Your hourly wage will depend on the state you live in and the job you are doing.... jobs that require more skills (like tutoring in math or science) will usually earn you a bit more money per hour.

    You are allowed to earn up the amount of money awarded.  You are responsible for finding your own work study job and convincing them to hire you.  Usually you work about 15 to 20 hours a week.  You should not count on work study money to pay for your tuition, fees and dorm  because it is not given to you "up front" and most schools require payment on these items before school starts or shortly after.
