  1. I worked as a CNA. It is very, very, very hard work and very little pay. It can get quite messy and your are responsible for a lot! Although I enjoyed helping those who needed it, I often found that CNA's were severely unappreciated, overworked and underpaid. CNA's spend long periods of time on their feet, with days so busy, it's not uncommon for them to skip a lunch break. Often short staffed, you can't tell a patient the reason it took you so long to get to them is because you had 15 other people that needed you too! It's a great experience, however I could not do it for long. I know several people who have permanent back & hip problems from continuous heavy lifting. It is very hard on your body-and you only get 1.  Take care of it wisely.

  2. I worked as a CNA for six months and I can tell you it's very hard work. You are always on your feet and always in a hurry. My experience working in a convalescent center was a negative one (and not a unique one, so I'm told), my coworkers always called in right before their shift so, we were constantly understaffed and had to hurry and often asked to stay extra hours. It's hard on your body and mind as well. The emotional aspect of it all is often too much for people to handle so, CNA work is always in high demand but, we never have enough people willing to stick with it for too long.

  3. Lotsa Lotsa work....
