I've got the weekend off. me & me mate are wanting to go to a museum, nice walk or something, have a good day out or whatever.

Live in Newcastle.

I drive, so no need for transport worries.

Anything considered - just an alternative to getting drunk.

  1. PIctures,, Shopping

  2. Nothing beats having a laugh with your mates than a simple game of football in the park.

Just pray that it doesn't rain. (in which case I suggest pool/snooker - but stay away from the bar!)

  3. Go watch the Newcastle v Hartlepool match and drink in Hartlepool instead!

  4. Hancock museum. The Sage. Go for a trip to Stanhope,it's not far and the scenery is lovely.Brilliant for walking.Derwent reservoir way!

  5. There is nothing else to do in Newcastle - you are doomed to a life of alcoholism!

  6. Go to the Discovery Museum its free to get in and lots to see or go to Bemish Museum in Durham it costs about £20 to get in but worth it. Or if weathers good go to Holy Island or low newton beach there is a canny pub there to watch the wind surfers from.

  7. Have a look at Enjoy England's day trip finder, there are loads of ideas all within 10 miles of Newcastle...

Hope you find something great to do!

  8. Museums and art galleries:

    - Go to the Hancock (might have spelt that wrong) museum, a short walk from the green market metro station - it's mostly free!

    - Closer to Central station you have the Baltic Gallery ( if you like modern art that is), or there's the Laying art gallery (which still actually has paintings and sculptures.

    Sea side:

You could visit South Shields beaches - Sand Haven and Beach Haven, they are both beautiful sandy beaches.  Or you could go a little further to the famous Marsden beach - where you can see Marsden rock (what's left of it) and go to the haunted Marsden Grotto for a meal!  You could also go to Coleman's chippy on ocean road (also in Shields - leading towards the sea) as it was rated the best chippy in the North of England!

    -  Go to North Shields, check out the coast near Tyne mouth!

    -  Have a day in Durham, check out the cathedral as it's really impressive, wander around the small but scenic city.

    - Go a little further to Bamburgh (prob spelt wrong) Castle.

    - Holy island and sea houses.

    - Sunderland.... (NOT!)

  9. check out the market on sunday morning its better than petticoat lane

have a look at the daft geordies they will have you in stitches in 10 minutes

  10. You can go to the Discovery Museum, The Baltic or The Laing Art Gallery, or even a nice walk along our beautiful quayside
