What is wrong w/ this equation: (x^2+x-6)/(x-2)=x+3 ?

  2. factor x^2+x-6: (x+3)(x-2)

    so that the left side becomes:

    (x+3)(x-2)/(x-2) = x+3 which equals the right hand side

    so this is an identity, meaning the left side equals the right side, and this identity holds for all values of x except for x=2 when you have an undefined function

  3. there is definitely no problem with that question....factorize the numerator 1st and you will see things clearly...:)
