  1. Could be low hydraulic fluid, or hydraulic pump could be bad.

  2. tilt and trim are on the same fuse, electronics on another, check the fuse. if it's a older merc IO check the exposed wire on the drive it can wear through and blow the fuse

  3. I'm not quite sure I understand what you mean by tilt and trim. Please explain a little more. Thank you.

  4. there might be a fuse blown at the assist solenoid , it would be a 20 amp I think.

  5. If you don't hear anything at all coming from the trim, no squeal, I would check these: the fuse for the trim, the up/down trim switch, and all wiring connections on this system.

You can easily check the continuity for starters, to see if the whole trim wiring is getting continuity.

  6. Give more info, make/model, some systems are electric over hydraulic it could be low on hydraulic fluid, does it make a noise like its trying to work. if not check the power to the tilt motor . if you have power to the motor and it doesn't make noise it could be the culprit.

  7. First, If you have a trim switch on both the motor and control handle, see if either works.  If one doesn't and one does, you need a new switch.  Then check the fuse.  If it is ok, check the solenoid or relay (whichever one it has).  If there is power going to the relay but not coming out, the relay is bad.  This needs done to each solenoid or relay (1 for up and 1 for down).  If there is no power to the relay and the fuse is good, then you need 2 new trim switches.  If there is power coming from the relays then your trim pump is bad.
