Is there a reason this guys shouldnt get 15+ carries a game. The guy has averaged over 6 yards a carry for 2 years, he returned kicks last year, and he caught the ball well (to go along with an average of 11 yards after the catch). Plus, he is possibly the fastest and most electrifying player on a team that lacked too many playmakers last year. However, he still is not getting the bulk of the carries for his team. Is his pass blocking really that bad that he cant be played? Or is the falcons front office just making another mistake? Or do they believe he is like Reggie Bush and can't be a feature back? Can someone please explain to me why this guy is not a starter and has not had the chance to be an elite back in this league (granted I know it would be tough for anyone to be elite right now on the falcons)?
P.S. It isnt just that he is not a starter that baffles me, it is that he is projected to only get 130 touches this year (whereas michael turner-a great RB who has only been a back-up recently is projected 308 touches). So a guy who has averaged in his career 6 yards per carry, 10 yards after the catch per catch, is experienced (entering 3rd year) and still in his mid 20s deserves less than 10 (about 8) touches a game? What does it take to earn some respect?
